I had heard Karl Kerschl's name many times but it wasn't until Teen Titans: Year One that I truly fell in love with his artwork.  There was just something very fresh and lively in his work that appealed to me.  I had the joy to discover his website and it is amazing!  Of particular interest are his paintings.  His Bjork is breath taking!  It doesn't hurt that he is kinda hot too!

JUST WHEN I THOUGHT COMICS WERE SUCKING BAD ENOUGH FOR ME TO DROP THEM AND SAVE SOME $$$ - HERE COMES THE BATMAN TITLES OUT OF NO WHERE. I LOVED BATMAN AND ROBIN SO MUCH I THOUGHT I WOULD CHECK OUT RED ROBIN- AND I FREAKIN' LOVED IT. TIM DRAKE IS NOW RED ROBIN. I LIKE THAT IT IS TAKING FROM KINGDOM COME BUT NOT EXACTLY. GOOD RERAD FO' SHO'!

X-MEN FOREVER!!!

Okay-I'll be the first to admit, I haven't loved anything Chris Claremont has written since his departure from the X-Men in the early 90's- but I still get excited every time they announce he is on a new x-project even though it usually disappoints. This time it was a little different- he was going to "pick up where he left off" on his run on the X-men back in the day. I got it mostly out of obligation but was excited nonetheless. I have to admit it was pretty darn good!  There is something to be said about way too many character with way to many problems-not to mention thought balloons and hilarious subplots that we're never likely to see play out! Ahhh- it's nice to get your moneys worth and read a comic book that takes an hour and a half to read! Highly recommended! Fo' Sho'!

PARTY AT PELHAM

My friends and I crashed the premiere party of Pelham 123 last night in Westwood.  It was fun. They had this fun B&W photo booth that showed off the good looks of my friends and I LOL (L to R, Matthew Clasby, Michael Farmer, Michael Troy and Baby Bird, Scotty Mullen!)  The party was great, and we didn't have to sit through the movie- which is fine because neither did Denzel- he had to haul ass to the Lakers Game!  What a riot!

The first issue of Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely's Batman and Robin came out today and I am happy to report it kicks major ass!  It's a butt-load of fun!  It makes so much sense and is a terrific pay off for what Grant established over in Batman.  I always expect great things from this creative duo, but this genuinely blew my bat socks off!
